The School of Handicrafts and Ceramics of La Bisbal de l’Empordà is a privileged place. It is our base camp; the operations center chosen for a group of ELISAVA students to live together for a week and come into contact with local craft realities such as cork, natural fibers, glass or ceramics. A total immersion by the hand of expert craftsmen. Together they learn the techniques and perform exercises to know and develop basic tools that allow them to discover opportunities for innovation. Experimenting with the criteria of craftsmanship and at the same time with those of design is the proposed methodology of these workshops. As part of coexistence and learning, a series of activities to connect with the territory are proposed; walking through places of important landscape value such as the Ter River wetlands, the Camí de Ronda coves or the cork oak exploitation of the Sierra de las Gabarras is understood as part of the creative process itself.
